FE11 Workshop Highlight: Transgender Youth and Parent Forum

As the Act for Youth, Center of Excellence noted in a paper on Transgender Youth entitled, “Growing Up Transgender: Safety and Resilience

Too often, transgender youth are left to face obstacles without the supports that foster both safety and healthy development. Adults may be unsure of how to respond to gender nonconformity, and how to help trans youth participate in society authentically and safely.

Well if that’s you and one of your children or teens, then this workshop is for  you!

Led by Diane Ellaborn, LICSW, with Joanna Frost, LICSW, Dianne Ouellette, LICSW, and a panel of parents and transgender youth, a panel of transgender youth and their parents will share their challenges, progress and successes. The risks and benefits of transitioning at a young age will be presented.

Diane Ellaborn, LICSW is a Gender Therapist with over 30 years experience. Joanna Frost, MSW, LICSW is a psychotherapist, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Gender Specialist. Dianne Ouellette, MSW, LICSW is a psychotherapist specializing in gender issues, with over fifteen years experience in issues relating to gender identity.
