Fenway’s Mindful Aging Course for LGBT Seniors

The LGBT Aging Project, a program of The Fenway Institute,will be offering a special 6 week course on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults over 50. The coursewill provide training in meditation, gentle yoga, mindfulness and relaxation.

Two Spring Sections:

Fall River Area:
Location: Fall River
Bristol Elder Services
1 Father Devalles Blvd, Fall River, MA
Dates: Monday Morning *
May 5 to June 9
Time: 10 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.

North Shore:
Location: Danvers
North Shore Elder Services
152 Sylvan St, Danvers, MA
Dates: Wednesday Evenings *
May 7 to June 11

* Times may change based on availability of interested participants in each area.

Orientation / Information Sessions:
Anyone interested in taking the MBSR course must attend one of the three orientation sessions:

  • Monday April 28 10am Fall River
  • Tuesday April 29 4pm Boston
  • Wednesday April 30 4pm Danvers

These sessions are 90 minutes and require registration. Directions and address will be given at the time of registration.

About the instructor:
Bob Linscott is the Assistant Director of the LGBT Aging Project, a program of The Fenway Institute at Fenway Health. He completed the Practicum for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through UMass Medical School. Bob earned his Master’s Degree at Harvard Divinity School with a concentration on Eastern Religions and Philosophy. Bob has been teaching meditation for over 20 years.
