First Event Wants You!

We are in the early planning stages for First Event 2014, (“What do you want to be when you grow up?”), January 22-26, 1014 again at the Peabody Marriott.

Help us make a vital and growing conference even better next year!  We are currently seeking volunteers to join the First Event Committee and help plan and manage  the conference in two important positions:

  • Transportation Coordinator
  • Evening Entertainment Assistant Coordinator

If interested, please e-mail us at info@tcne.org with your name and contact information. Please include a short description of yourself and where you would like to help. Thank you!

First Event: Register Early Online

Don’t miss out on all the fun this January 23-27! TCNE members save an 10% or 20%. Some activities have limited space and registering early guarantees your place. First Event 2013 will be the biggest and best ever with your support.

We highly recommend registering for the conference online, especially if you are planning to attend any of the dinner functions. We must give the hotel the meal counts the day before the event starts to ensure there is enough food. Last year, we sadly had to turn down a number of people for dinner tickets who made last minute decisions at the event. We encourage you to reserve your place early and the best way to do that is to register online now.

Online Registration will close Friday, January 18 at 11:59 PM. Please register online before then or you must register in person at the conference the following week.

Visit the First Event Registration page for details and sign up either online or by mail:  http://www.firstevent.us/registration/

Seeking Submissions!

Have you ever dreamed of being a published author?  Maybe authoress?  We are seeking new and interesting content both for this TCNE web site and also the  First Event conference site.  Tell us your story or experience. Share your wisdom on transgender issues and challenges. Make announcements of interest to the community.  As long as it is interesting, inoffensive, reasonably on topic, and not advertising in disguise, we and our hundreds of daily visitors would love to read your story!

For www.FirstEvent.us (and now also www.FirstEvent.org too!), we need stories and experiences about the conference from previous attendees. Help us explain the First Event experience to potential new attendees. First Event helps fund Tiffany Club, so helping us market the conference is a free way to assist the club financially and keep TCNE services available to the community!

Please submit articles and stories by emailing them to Stacey at info@tcne.org.  Submissions for the First Event Experiences blog can also be made using a form at the end without requiring your name or email. Submissions are subject to editing, but we will contact you with changes before posting if possible.
