TransMasculine Track featured at TCNE’s First Event 2010!
As part of the initiative and commitment to provide more programming,accessibility and inclusiveness for transmasculine members of our community, the organizers of the First Event have scheduled workshopsfor and/or by FTM transgender speakers in a “TransMasculine Track” on Jan. 16, 2010, and have reduced the single-day registration fee for all FTM registrants from $30 to $20 for the Jan. 16 workshops.

- (2) “Interacting with the Press: Do’s, Don’ts & Maybe’s”
- Jennifer Levi (from GLAD): Transgender Legal Issues
- Dr. Peter Raphael: FTM Mastectomy & Centurion Reconstruction
- Hawk Stone: FTM Sexuality
- Gunner Scott & Ruben Hopwood: Transgender Suicide Prevention & Intervention
- Mycroft Holmes: Transgender Faith, Spirituality & Religion
Many other workshops of potential interest to FTMs are lined up for Jan 16 of the conference and please check the general First Event schedule.
In addition, spouses, SOs and partners of FTMs can attend the “Partners in Process” program that will also be held on Jan. 16.
Please note that the reduced fee for FTMs is for the workshops only and not for the banquet that evening, which is a separate fee. The $20 registration fee will provide FTM attendees access to any of the workshops on January 16 (not only those in the TransMasculine Track), plus entrance into the morning coffee & tea FTM Meet & Greet as well as the FTM Luncheon sponsored by Dr. Peter Raphael of the American Institute of Plastic Surgery
How To Register for First Event’s TransMasculine Track
When completing the attendee registration form, just write “1 FTM” in the “Qty” column on the line next to “Saturday Workshop $30″ and enter “$20″ under “Total” (for one attendee – adjust as needed for multiple attendees). You may download the First Event registration form by clicking here.
You may return it via an attached file with an email to firstevent@tcne.org, postal mail or fax. Payment accepted via PayPal (TCNE’s PayPal email is finance@tcne.org), Credit Card, Personal Check, Cash, or Money Order. The deadline to register is January 6, 2010 or you may register in person at First Event 2010
(Side note: Any FTM who wishes to pay the full $30 fee for the Jan. 16 workshop registration will be helping to the extend the conference budget for this “FTM initiative.”)
