Waltham, MA (OPENPRESS) February 4, 2010 — Without question, relationships between people define, strengthen and create healthy lives and the internet has proven to be vital for people connecting and finding such healthy relationships. Tiffany Club of New England, a real time social and support group for transgender people based in Massachusetts, and Pink Essence, the internet’s fastest growing social network for the transgender community and their allies, have agreed to cross-link and cross promote their sites to help transgender people build strong friendships for peer support, help and friendship.
Tiffany Club of New England, TCNE, founded in 1977, was founded because many in the transgender community felt a safe, secure, non-sexual, friendly place to meet and cross-dress was of the utmost importance for every member of the transgender community regardless of their personal journey. 33 years later, TCNE continues to fulfill their mission from their headquarters in Waltham MA, giving necessary space for all transgender men and women to understand who they are in their personal journey, build relationships with others for fun and support, and to provide helpful service to the transgender community.
Pink Essence was formed in 2006 as a safe, sane, web based social network serving the Ohio transgender community. Today Pink Essence is a donation funded, volunteer led, dynamic social network focused on the transgender community and its allies. Pink Essence’s goal is to provide the transgender community a social network web site that is classy and run with common sense and from the heart, and not as a business.
“TCNE does it’s best to do our part to help the transgender community form solid, healthy friendships and to represent the transgender community in the best light possible.” said Paula Howard, TCNE’s President, “Another of our goals is provide a safe space for trans-people to start understanding who they are. Pink Essence shares many of our core goals so cross-linking with Pink Essence we felt would only help the transgender community in Greater Boston and New England.
“I was delighted to speak at TCNE’s First Event Transgender Conference and start to connect with TCNE”, said Chloe Prince, founder of Pink Essence, “It’s my and our volunteer staff’s heart’s desire to provide a safe, non-commercial, space for transgender people world-wide to connect for friendship and mutual support. We know this is TCNE’s same heart’s desire, and so cross-linking with them only made sense since it furthers both our aims.”
Visitors to tcne.org will find a Pink Essence badge on the front page of their web site to let visitors know of Pink Essence as a social network site that transgender people can feel comfortable joining. Pink Essence, pinkessence.com, has established a special TCNE and First Event Group on the Pink Essence Social Network for TCNE members and those who are just interested in TCNE to obtain updates on TCNE’s activities.
