Jessica Garabedian

GarabedianMy heart is very heavy as I write this …

My good friend Jessica Garabedian passed away late Wednesday night at her home after succumbing to a heart attack.

I had no idea until I was just going to bed and I received an e-mail telling me the bad news. Needless to say I was in shock and quickly saddened. I’m still in shock and can’t wrap my head around this.

Jessica, AKA Temptress, was one of the nicest people I knew…. She had a big heart, very witty and very supportive of people. We had many great conversations. She would just call me out of the blue and ask me how I was doing and discuss her next idea for a photo shoot.

She always invited me to everything she did. I know she touched many people and so many people loved her. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
I am so glad I was able to know her and call her my friend. She was more than just a client of mine. I enjoyed every photo shoot we did and all the fun conversations leading up to them.

Rest in peace Jessica.

Music Video Features Transgender Love Story

Grace found this Matt Nathanson Music Video of ‘Kinks Shirt’, his new hit song. At least in the video, it is about a transgender woman. It’s great!

Halloween Howl Party – Oct 18

HalloweenHowlTiffany Club is again joining John Warrener’s new TGFashions.com along with Glamour Boutique, 850 Southbridge Street, Auburn, MA, in sponsoring his annual Halloween Party on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am at the Indian Meadows Country Club in Westborough, MA. Glamour Boutique’s seasonal parties have become a popular tradition in the transgender community and attendance has been amazing this year!

Indian Meadows (also known as Acacia Functions) is a very nice facility off Route 9, way back off the main road in a very private and safe setting surrounded by the golf course. This is a closed party for t-girls and their admirers only. Unlike parties held at any of the local clubs, there will be no outsiders attending. We welcome any and all CDs, TSs, TGs, MtFs, FtMs, Admirers, etc. to party and dance the night away or just enjoy a nice evening of conversation and friendship.

The t-girl band, Jodi Jolt and Her Ghoulish Girls, will be performing live. DJ Paula will be spinning the dance tunes before and after their sets. Helping to get everyone on the dance floor will be the vivacious Krissy Bee to get the girls strutting their stuff on the dance floor. There will be additional entertainment and fun activities including some psychic card readers available for readings and some special scary guests.

We also will be awarding prizes at midnight for Best Costumes. Every person attending will receive a pumpkin ballot in a necklace. Those of you who want to be considered in the contests will get a special number. Throughout the night people will be able to cast their ballots for their favorite costume.
There will be three prizes and titles will then be given out:

Miss Halloween Hotty (2nd Runner Up)
Miss Halloween Wow (1st Runner Up)
Miss Halloween Howl (Most Pumpkins)

This will be a great opportunity to attend our Halloween Howl Party in your favorite costume. French Maids, Little Girls, Cheerleaders, Brides, Grooms, Glamour Queens, Sexy Girl Next Door, Hunky Guy, Show Girls, Sports Figures, Scary Monsters, Cowboys, Cowgirls etc. For those of us who find just dressing in our preferred role enough of a costume, just wear your favorite attire! Or just go in male mode. All are welcome to join us for an evening of fun and getting to meet some great people. (The only limitation is no nudity/indecency, please.)

For those who have not been to the country club, there are three rooms in the front section. On the far left is a section usually set up for Saturday weddings. In the center is a room with tables where people can sit and talk near the bar. And on the far right is a decent sized room with a dance floor with more tables and chairs for resting or watching the dancers. For those needing a place to change into or out of their outfits, we will have areas available at the country club

If you call or e-mail in a reservation to TGFashions.com / Glamour Boutique Auburn, you only pay $10 at the door. Or pay $15 at the door without a reservation. Parking is free and is within steps of the entrance.

To make your reservation or if you need more information, just drop John Warrener a line at jwarrener@aol.com. You can also call or drop by the Glamour Boutique store, 508-721-7800 or 888-721-3177 toll free, 850 Southbridge Street, Auburn, MA.

For updates on the party visit www.TGFashions.com. Please Friend them on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/TG-Fashions/196975520352573

For Makeover Appointments, please contact John at jwarrener@aol.com or
508-721-7800 (888-721-3177 toll free) and he can arrange one of our make up artists for you.

Directions: Indian Meadows is at 275 Turnpike Road in Westborough, MA. It is on the western side of Westborough. Look for the Wendy’s on the opposite side of Route 9 as a guide point. There is a Burlington Coat Factory behind the Wendy’s. (Note that there is another Wendy’s near I-495 on the other side of the I-495 junction.) The roadway to the country club is on the west bound side directly across from the Wendy’s and has a red light of its own. For those of you getting off onto Route 9 from I-495, it is 4.7 miles to the west on the right side. You will pass Westborough Toyota, then Glick Nissan, just before reaching the country club driveway on the right. The website for the Indian Meadows Country Club is www.AcaciaFunctions.com.

For MBTA Riders there is a station within a mile or so of the country club with regular stops during Friday afternoon and evening. If needed we can arrange to have someone pick you up and get you to the party. The trains back, however, will not run until the next morning so you would need to make arrangements to stay overnight or find a ride home after the party.

We have made arrangements with the Econo Lodge for a group rate. They are about a mile away from the country club and have direct access from the room to the car so one does not need to go through any crowded lobbies. The rate is $59.95 for up to two people ($10 more per person above that). Call (508) 842-8941 for reservations and tell them you want the “Halloween Event at Indian Meadows Country Club” rate. To get to the Econo Lodge from the party, drive west on Route 9 and then take the 20 West exit. The Econolodge is almost immediately on the right after you get on Route 20, at 380 SW Cutoff, Northborough, MA 01532.

The closest lodging is Motel 6, within a mile of the Indian Meadows Country Club on the same side of the street. They have great rates. Motel 6, 399 Turnpike Road, Westborough, 508-366-0202. However there have been a few complaints Motel 6 by party goers in the past.

Save the date – Friday, October 18 – for a wonderful evening of fun and great costumes!

Summer Sizzler Epilogue

by Stacey

“Semi-out” gatherings seem ever more popular these days. The Internet provides almost total secrecy for those too shy, but more and more girls and their admirers seek something a little less virtual. Gatherings like the seasonal parties hosted by John Warrener, founder of Glamour Boutique, have seen attendance mushroom lately. In 2012 John’s spring and Halloween events attracted 50 to 100 of us. So far this year participation has more than doubled. March’s “Spring Bling” party attendance was a surprising 135. John added a new “Summer Sizzler” party June 14 and numbers approached 200. Tiffany Club is helping sponsor John’s parties this year after seeing its own First Event transgender winter conference grow double-digit percentages the last few years. Is it just Boston or are more of us ready to get out as long as “out” is safe and not too public?
SizzlerWedding
There were a number of partners this time and spouse support in the transgender community appears to be growing too. One lucky couple even publicly renewed their vows in a special ceremony that evening, trans white wedding dress and bouquet included! But most were without their mates. As usual lots of the conversation was about what wives did and did not know and how good or bad things were at home.

The trans women were pretty diverse too. I met at least one girl out dressed for the very first time, and she looked amazing! Others are have been around for decades. Many danced, usually with the other girls, to music provided by DJ Paula Howard, president of Tiffany Club. Others surrounded the dance floor, possibly scared to join the fun. Even more sat around the numerous tables and chatted.

Lots of effort obviously goes into planning outfits for big events like these and everyone looked great. Twenty lucky souls looked even better after getting Glamour Boutique makeovers, which John had running most of the day, both at his Auburn store and at the party, held at the Indian Meadows Country Club, well off the main road in Westborough, shielded from public view.

John’s parties usually include a voluntary “beauty” contest where attendees can vote for the girls choosing to compete. This time it was for “Miss Summer Sizzler”. Voting criteria are necessarily pretty vague and the contest often seems more about lobbying and popularity than looks. Which is probably just as well given the egos many of us have invested in our appearance. There was even some out-and-out vote buying, with one contestant offering me a little vial of perfume, “good stuff” she said. The winners were Miss Cha Cha, Miss Summer Sizzler 2013, Tina, first runner up, and Vanessa, that amazing first timer, second runner up who apparently went home early because she was missing when the awards were announced.

John Warrener is an icon in the transgender world, at least the MTF part. In 1995 he founded Glamour Boutique as an Internet mail order business supplying breast forms, corsets, clothing and accessories nationwide. Many of us purchased our first “girl things” from John. When the business outgrew his home, he opened a Glamour Boutique store near the Mass Pike, 850 Southbridge Street, Auburn, and eventually a couple of others out west too. Five years ago, John sold the online business, which is now run out of New Jersey. But he kept the Auburn store and has started a second online site, TGFashions.com, which competes with his old GlamourBoutique.com now that the two business are fully separate. By the way, John is the best source of inexpensive jewelry I’ve found, with a big selection of clip-on earrings and some hoop bracelets that fit over your hands! John often appears at his parties as Chrissy, but not this summer. Who has time to dress when business is booming?

John’s next private party is scheduled for October 18th as a Halloween Bash. Jodi Jolt and her Ghoulish Girls will be playing live. Krissy Bee will be back to get the girls onto the dance floor. A psychic will also be there to tell the futures of those who are brave enough to get a reading. Rumor also has it that a few scary monsters may be attending to liven up the night. Visit tgfashions.com for more information.

fireDue to the overwhelming success of the recent Spring Bling fling, join us at the new SUMMER SIZZLER PARTY on Friday, June 14, from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am, once again at Indian Meadows Country Club (also known as Acacia Functions) in Westborough. Spring Blink Party

Tiffany Club is excited to announce that we will join Glamour Boutique, 850 Southbridge Street, Auburn, MA, in sponsoring their spring party this year on the Ides of March! (That is 3/15 for those not into Shakespeare.) Glamour Boutique’s biannual parties have become a popular tradition in the transgender community and TCNE is pleased to be officially involved for the first time this year.

Glamour Boutique and TCNE are having a Spring Bling Party from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am on Friday, March 15th, at the Indian Meadows Country Club (also known as Acacia Functions). The Country Club is a very nice facility and, although on Route 9 in Westborough, it is situated way back off the main road in a very private and safe setting.

We welcome any and all CDs, Ts, MtFs, FtMs, Admirers, etc. to party and dance the night away. The incredible Paula Howard will be our DJ, providing the best dance music possible. Drinks are very reasonable at the club and we will have munchies available too!

This will be a great opportunity for you to put away your winter blah outfits and pull out your spring finery. Then add a touch of BLING to get in the spirit of the new season!

There will be a Miss Spring Bling chosen by audience vote! Each person entering the party receives a voting card. Those girls opting to participate in the contest can (but are not necessarily required to) mingle throughout the night and drum up votes for themselves. When ready, voters enter their selection’s number and place their card in the ballot box. Factors to consider: Blingiest, Sexy, Originality, Personality, and Femininity. Miss Spring Bling plus two Runners Up will be announced at midnight. Miss Spring Bling gets a tiara, $100 Cash, and posted on www.TGFashions.com, www.TG-Fashions.com, and www.TCNE.org websites as “Miss Spring Bling 2013”. Runners Up get $50 gift certificates at www.tgfashions.com. All other contestants get our sincerest thanks!
