mission Statement

The mission of the Organization is to support, empower, and celebrate the trans* and gender expansive community(1), their families, and allies through educational programming, community building, and events that provide resources and foster belonging, connection, learning, joyful self-expression, and celebration. The Organization also seeks to foster a better future for trans* and gender expansive individuals by educating the public about policies that affect the community and advocating for trans* rights, within the limitations allowed under its 501(c)(3) status.

(1)“The trans* and gender expansive community” includes, but is not limited to, individuals who are and/or identify as transgender, transsexual, non-binary, gender non-conforming (GNC), genderqueer, two-spirit, agender, intersex, cross-dressers, drag performers, and those who are gender-questioning.

The Organization is committed to:

-Ensuring that its board composition, as well as its programming, and spaces are accessible, inclusive, and representative of the full diversity of the trans* and gender expansive community;

-Building a culture of accountability, including actively addressing historical gaps in representation and participation—particularly among those who have been historically marginalized, including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), non-binary individuals, trans
masculine individuals, and disabled people;

-Ensuring transparency in its governance, programming, and operations

-Fostering meaningful collaboration with members of the broader trans* and gender expansive community and partner organizations to build collective impact.
