FIRST EVENT ANNOUNCES SECURITY POLICY FOR A SAFE FIRST EVENT FOR ALL ATTENDEES, PRESENTERS & SPONSORS.

Welcome! First Event, an event organized, led and sponsored by TCNE, Inc., is one of the largest transgender & gender expansive conferences in the country, and we are thrilled to have you as a part of our vibrant community! TCNE’s mission statement is “Connecting transgender, gender expansive people and those who love us with community and resources to help us all live full and authentic lives.” We welcome all gender identities and expressions in an open and supportive environment. The First Event 2024 team and the TCNE Board of Directors are dedicated to making this conference both safe and enjoyable for everyone.

We all deserve to be safe and secure. The First Event staff is working closely with the Boston Park Plaza security team and the Boston Police to ensure you can be your true self without concern for your safety. We understand that the presence of law enforcement might make some people uncomfortable. For that reason, there will be no police officers in our conference spaces. The hotel security staff are informed and prepared for this fabulous event and have developed a substantially enhanced security plan over previous years.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility, including participants, First Event staff, hotel security staff and local law enforcement. If you see something, please say something. The First Event staff and the Directors of TCNE will be in all conference areas and will be easily identifiable. Please let us know if you have any concerns, and we will address them immediately.
