The Gamma Chapter evolved into the Cherrystone Club in 1973 and soon moved to Dorothy Dean’s apartment at 500 Columbus Avenue, Boston. Legend has it that the name, Cherrystone, was decided upon one evening as several members were sitting at a bar indulging in adult beverages, when one of them commented that they were a bunch of Cherries getting stoned.
