By Us, For Us: Surviving and Supporting Each Other as Trans, Nonbinary and Gender Non Conforming People Working in TGNC Spaces: A Community Discussion
BIPOC, People of ColorTrans+ Rights & EqualityEducation & DEI Work
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM White Hill Room, Hilton Boston Park Plaza
This panel is a conversation about how we balance showing up as transgender and nonbinary people for each other during these scary and discouraging times in the world. In order to sustainably continue working as transgender and nonbinary people, how do we model self care and rest while honoring our humanity?
Themes will include breaking down the radical individualism, scarcity mindset, and prioritization of “productivity” over all other life domains.
Themes will also include ways to build collective community support in sustainable, actionable ways. How do we show up for ourselves as transgender and nonbinary human beings and lead by example with self care and rest, during times where trans people are under attack? How do we show up authentically with and for each other? How are we *really* doing? How do we create space where it is okay to not be okay? How do we help each other heal?
